What to Expect on Your First Visit
Your first visit is about understanding your child’s needs and supporting your family.
Preparation Checklist
What to bring and how to prepare for your visit
- Referral letter from your doctor or health professional
- Previous medical reports, test results, or assessments
- Child's health records booklet (Child Health Development Record)
- National Identity Card or passport of parent/guardian
- Arrive 20 minutes early for registration
- Two cardboard files, two binding threads & one exercise book (40 pages)

During the Visit
- Approximate visit duration is 2 hours
- Waiting areas available on all three floors see the navigation map
- Child friendly facilities available
- Support available for parents at the Reception and Nursing Station
- All patient Clinical Services are free of charge
- Devices are chargeable
- Donations are never mandatory
After Your Visit
- Please book your next appointment before you leave at reception.
- Appointments are scheduled as per the Clinicians' request in the patient book.
- Contact the Nurse or Reception for any help.

Attending a programme, or coming to learn more about Ayati? Here's how to plan your visit.
Visiting Guidelines
- Visiting hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
- Complete the Visitor Registration Form before your visit
- Your check-in point is at the Admin Office upon arrival
- Visitor badges will be issued as per the Visitor Registration Form information
- You are requested to sign the Visitor Book upon completion of your visit
- Please follow the child safeguarding rules at all times during your visit

- Take photos or recordings without permission

- Carers and Visitors — General parking within the Faculty of Medicine premises
Security / Reception Desk
Upon arrival, please report to the Security Desk first, followed by the Reception Desk.
Safeguarding Rules
At Ayati, the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of every Client, Staff, Care Giver and Visitor is our highest priority.
All visitors, families, staff, and partners are expected to always follow these safeguarding guidelines.
Our Commitment
- Every child has the right to feel safe, respected, and protected.
- Ayati follows strict child safeguarding and protection policies in line with best practices.
- Any behaviour that compromises a child's safety or privacy will not be permitted.
During Your Visit
Please help us keep children safe by following these rules:
- Always follow instructions given by Ayati staff
- Care Givers must always remain with Clients and other siblings
- Always remain in designated areas unless accompanied by staff
- Treat all children and families with respect and sensitivity
- Report any concern immediately to a staff member
What Is Not Allowed
- Clients or siblings being alone without a parent or caregiver, without staff permission
- Entering therapy or clinical spaces without approval
- Sharing personal information about children or families
- Any behaviour that may cause discomfort, fear, or harm
Photography & Media
- Photography, video, or audio recording is not allowed unless prior written permission has been granted by Ayati.
- Media visits must be preapproved and guided by staff.
- These rules always protect children's privacy and dignity.
If You Have a Concern
If you see or experience something that worries you:
- Inform an Ayati staff member immediately, or
- Contact our safeguarding focal point at Operations Head at the Admin Office
All concerns are taken seriously and handled confidentially.
Shared responsibility for a safe environment. Ayati is committed to ensuring a safe, respectful, and secure workplace for all staff, volunteers, and service providers. Safeguarding includes protecting staff from verbal, emotional, or physical harm and ensuring children are appropriately supervised at all times.

- Ayati has zero tolerance for abuse, aggression, intimidation, or threatening behaviour toward staff.
- Staff have the right to work in an environment that is safe, respectful, and free from harm.
- Safeguarding applies to all interactions between staff, clients, caregivers, and visitors.
Responsibilities of Parents, Caregivers, and Clients
Expected Behaviour
- Treat all staff with respect, courtesy, and cooperation.
- Follow staff guidance regarding safety, supervision, and movement within the centre.
- Ensure children remain under appropriate supervision at all times.
- Support staff in maintaining a calm, safe environment for everyone.
Not Permitted
- Verbal abuse, shouting, threats, or intimidation toward staff.
- Physical aggression or attempts to harm staff, directly or indirectly.
- Allowing children to act in ways that may cause harm to staff or others.
- Ignoring staff instructions related to safety or supervision.
Child Supervision Expectations
Parents and caregivers are responsible for supervising their children unless care has been formally transferred to staff.
Children must not:
- Run freely in clinical or non-public areas
- Handle equipment without permission
- Act in ways that could injure staff, other children, or themselves
- Staff may intervene to ensure safety when supervision is inadequate.
Staff Rights and Responsibilities
Staff Rights
- To work without fear of abuse or harm.
- To set and maintain professional boundaries.
- To pause or stop interactions if safety is compromised.
- To seek immediate support from supervisors or security where needed.
Staff Responsibilities
- Respond calmly and professionally to challenging behaviour.
- Follow internal procedures for managing incidents.
- Report all incidents, threats, or concerns promptly.
Managing Unsafe Behaviour
If behaviour places staff or others at risk:
- Staff may ask the individual to pause, step back, or leave the area.
- Appointments or services may be paused or rescheduled.
- Serious incidents may be escalated according to Ayati's safeguarding and safety procedures.
Reporting and Support
All incidents involving abuse, aggression, or safety concerns must be reported. Reports are handled confidentially and without retaliation.
